The students are working very hard to prepare for their Christmas Musical On Thursday evening at 7 pm. It will be a very special kick-off to the Holiday season! If you have not yet purchased tickets, please send in the money as soon as possible. Both classes have extra tickets if you are in need! No tickets will be sold at the door.
In the Newsletter our 12 days of Christmas went home. Please consult for any special theme days.
We have a number of up and coming events planned for Christmas. Friday, we will be creating our very own "Wooden Santas" for author Kevin Major's visit next week. A supply letter and design idea have gone home with your child today. Please take a look at any materials needed to make the Santa on Friday afternoon. Any parent 'glue gun' volunteers will be welcome Friday afternoon. Please let us know if you are available!
Any questions or concerns, please drop us an email!
See you Thursday night!

Fall Fun!
We have been having a great time learning this fall! We have attended our first field trip at the Fluvarium where the students explored different soil samples for our Science unit. We have also started our curling sessions for the year and will have two completed before Christmas and two following the holiday.
This week is our Spooky Week. We will be doing several activities centered around Halloween. The students have written Spooky Halloween stories in English and we will be doing a read-aloud Halloween morning by flashlight. As well, in French we are preparing posters for Halloween safety to present to our buddy readers.
We will have Halloween celebrations on Thursday afternoon. Students can bring a costume and change during the lunch break. As well, you can send a small personal party snack for an afternoon recess during our Halloween festivities.
Small reminder that there are no classes for students tomorrow, October 29th!

End of Term Two
Hello parents, the end of Term Two is here and reports went home on Tuesday. The students have had many successes this term and we encourage you to celebrate their accomplishments! Interviews are Thursday of this week. Please go to Optis to book your time slot. We look forward to seeing you all!
A reminder that Monday, March 25th is a closeout as teachers will have a Professional Development Day. Also, our third curling session is March 28th. We encourage any parent volunteers to help us on the ice. As it is distracting to students, we ask that if you come, please assist us rather than watching from the observation deck.
As we say goodbye to March, Easter is right around the corner! We hope to see some of you at the Auction Saturday night!

We hope you all enjoyed your Christmas break. We are well back into the swing of things! The students are busy exploring a novel in French called "Ma nuit dans les glaçes'. We are working on land and water masses in Social Studies and have started the Geometry unit in Math. Our next Math unit is addition and subtraction (3 digit numbers). Please review single digit addition and in particular subtraction to assist in this upcoming task.
