Bienvenue!
We would like to welcome all the students and parents back to another great year at MQP! We are eager to get to know your precious children. We use our website as a communication between home and school. Please feel free to reference it to find class schedules and homework postings. It is updated regularly.
We often send class messages home via Tinyletter. We ask that you all sign up for this communication program. You'll need to subscribe to it by going to the links section at the top of the homepage screen. Please click on your child's teacher's name- Mme McGrath's News or Mme Young's News. Once there, follow the prompts by entering your email address. You can sign up with more than one email address- just go through the same process a second time. We will send a test message to the group before curriculum night.
We look forward to meeting all of you on September 24th @ 6:15 pm!

Down to the last days...
Everyone had a great time yesterday at our Sports Day event. Rain or shine it was a go at the Techniplex! We have a few short weeks remaining and the students are very busy cluing up units for the year.
We are currently working on the Structures Unit in Science. Next week we will be creating our own structures based on the knowledge we now have on proper foundations, shapes and reinforcements.
We are also working diligently on the final unit in Math; Measurement. This is a great unit for June as the students enjoy all the hands on measuring activities we do throughout the entire school.
Next week we have our final Talent Show- 'J'ai du talent'. The students have really enjoyed celebrating their own personal talents- remember pretty much anything goes from Karate and magical demonstrations to singing and dancing!
As things wind down for the year Mme Young and I would like to thank you for your support and the wonderful year we have had with your children. They have certainly all been a pleasure to teach! Have a safe and happy summer!

May has arrived!
The month of May has arrived and with it, many new challenges and activities for the students. We have just completed units on geometry and fractions in Math. The students are eager to begin multiplication and division this week. As well, we will soon begin our final unit in Science on Structures. The students love the hands on experiments in this unit.
We have a couple of field trips being planned for late May and early June. We will post the details once finalized.
Lastly, our Book in a Bag is due May 11th. We will begin the class presentations that week. We really look forward to seeing their ideas!

Joyeuses St-Patrick!
We would like to wish you all a Happy St. Patrick's Day! We also would like to thank you for taking time from your busy schedules to meet with us during teacher-parent conferences. It was great to chat with you all on your child"s accomplishments this term!
March is proving to be another busy month for our students. We are currently working toward finishing our subtraction unit in Math, as well as, a Science unit on Forces. The students are enjoying exploring through experiments in Science. Continue to review the Science notes, we will be adding to them this week. Many of you asked about the Science text. We use this generally for the purpose of experiments- not as a study guide.
Thank you to all the wonderful supporters who were able to attend our school auction last evening. It was a huge success - when final totals are in we will let you know how much money was raised for our school!

Bonne Année
Our New Year has begun and the students are already hard at work. Along with the cold and snow, January brings us a busy month filled with new themes and activities. Continue to practice Math facts at home in preparation for our upcoming Math unit. Also, please focus on home reading in both English and French and record your minutes in the reading log provided. We will focus on the persuasive letter in English and are planning to start our second novel study in French. Lots of activities to keep us engaged!
***Please remember to dress the children for the cold weather as they will be outside during lunch whenever possible.***
